‘Di na ‘ko papayag mawala ka muli.
‘Di na ‘ko papayag na muling mabawi,
Ating kalayaan kay tagal natin mithi.
‘Di na papayagang mabawi muli.
Magkakapit-bisig libo-libong tao.
Kay sarap palang maging Pilipino.
Sama-sama iisa ang adhikain.
Kailan man ‘di na paalipin.
Handog ng Pilipino sa mundo,
Mapayapang paraang pagbabago.
Katotohanan, kalayaan, katarungan
Ay kayang makamit na walang dahas.
Basta’t magkaisa tayong lahat.
Magsama-sama tayo...ikaw at ako.
Masdan ang nagaganap sa aming bayan.
Magkasama na'ng mahirap at mayaman.
Kapit-bisig madre, pari, at sundalo.
Naging langit itong bahagi ng mundo.
Huwag muling payagang umiral ang dilim.
Tinig ng bawat tao’y bigyan ng pansin.
Magkakapatid lahat sa Panginoon.
Ito’y lagi nating tatandaan.
Magkaisa
Composed by Tito Sotto
Sang by Virna Lisa
Ngayon ganap ang hirap sa mundo
Unawa ang kailangan ng tao
Ang pagmamahal sa kapwa'y ilaan
Isa lang ang ugat ng ating pinagmulan
Tayong lahat ay magkalahi
Sa unos at agos ay huwag padadala
Panahon na ng pagkakaisa
Kahit ito ay hirap at dusa
Magkaisa (may pagasa kang matatanaw)
At magsama (bagong umaga, bagong araw)
Kapit kamay (sa atin Siya'y nagmamahal)
Sa bagong pagasa
Ngayon may pag-asang natatanaw
May bagong araw, bagong umaga
Pagmamahal sa Diyos, isipin mo tuwina

(Sa sarili kong standards...) These songs are unquestionably great! Very meaningful and touching, kahit na noong People Power I ay 7 years old pa lang ako, ramdam na ramdam ko ang kahulugan nito. o",)
RJ: Nu'ng marinig ko nga ulit ung kanta, it brought back lots of memories. Sadly, hindi ako naging bahagi ng EDSA Revolution. Pero tulad ng post mo about bulalakaw, that night in Antipolo, I saw a falling star at the same instance that we heard that Marcos fled the country. I wished that Philippines would be better.
Haay. I've always wanted to be a part of the first EDSA rev. kaso wala pa ko sa sinapupunan ng nanay ko non. Anyway, these songs have always been favorites of mine.
hi!!!that was edsa before sad to say edsa today got new image kapag sinabi mo ang edsa ngayon iba na ang pumapasok sa isip hindi na ung edasa people power lol now its traffic, giant billboards, mmda barricades, center islands amd most recently the carnapping incident, and car accidents lol
Hi Nebz, definitely these two songs are great. It made us proud to be Filipinos. Everytime these songs were played, para bang nagkaka goose bumps ako. I could even equate it to "Bayan Ko" - that was before.
But same as the rest, the euphoria of Edsa just died down. I dunno why but I think it's because of the events at the political front.
There's really nothing new after 33 years! Our political leaders are still inept and corrupt!
But I still believe that the Filipino is worth dying for!
