This is where I live and rest
This is my dwelling place in Saudi, where I find peace and rest. Not always but mostly.
I live in Alkhobar, in the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia -- one hour from Bahrain, some four hours from Kuwait. It's a city not as big as Dammam or Riyadh or Jeddah. But it being small makes it a perfect place for me. Everything here is just a walk away from our house: the barber shop, two decently-sized malls, grocery shops, banks, restaurants, Corniche seaside, etc. (Click the above photo and it will take you to a wiki-infosheet of Khobar).
I live in a three-room, one-bath, one-kitchen apartment (we call it a 'flat') with two other Pinoys: Rene and Edgar.
I pay SAR425 per month for my 4x5sqm room. It's actually a steal if you ask me. (Am I right, Azel and George? I heard the rent in Dubai or Qatar are extremely pricey).
This is the corner where I blog, chat and surf.
My RC units and the Book that controls my life.
This center table also serves as my footrest while watching tv.
My dramatic curtain!
This is where I go home to every day. I find peace and rest in here.
Next time: Where on earth is Alkhobar?
Sama ako kay Doc RJ ah? Handa mo na yung tulugan namin jan lolzz
Wow, super cheap naman ang kwarto mo, here in Doha that room will cost you at an average rent of 1800 Riyals/mo.
Cute naman ng Xmas tree... and I love your center table, a wooden chest box, pangarap kong mag-uwi ng isang ganyan sa atin sa Pinas, iyong may typical Arabic decors adorned with capiz shells.
Do you know that I was offered a job there in Khobar sa Royal Air Force?
Thank you for sharing your private world to is Nebz.
Looking at your own flat reminds me of where I previously lived in Jeddah - nakakamiss na rin lalo na yung samahan. Thanks for letting us peek into your home away from home! Merry Christmas!
(time 12.50) then, do the math!
dito kase sa dubai hindi uso ung magisa ka lang sa room... i am living with 3 other roommates. and we are paying AED750 each per month!!!
Thanks for letting us invade your space.=) Grabe, dito I am paying AED 8,000 per month (12.50 ave. exchange rate). Pero, it is a choice naman.
Btw, will u not be home on Christmas? Mr. Abad will be attending the PEBA awards. Ur expected there as well! Merry Christmas Nebz!
Ok pala ng apartment mo. "di ba kamo, March uwi ka na? Sana magkita tayo nila Nelson before you leave. I think you are a good person at sayang kung 'di ka namin makikilala ng personal.
Salamat po sa dalaw and Merry Christmas everyone!
Sagot sa mga tanong:
Oo, RJ and Charlie, ur welcome anytime after 9pm. (Hehe).
George: That would have been grand kung nand2 ka sa Alkhobar. Royal Air Force, I think, is a good employer.
Dennis: It's sort of shedding off myself (hehe).
Super cheap dito sa Saudi that's why it is still a preferred Mideast work locn of Pinoys in 40-plus (ung mga hindi na naghahanap ng good time). Hehe.
Braggart: Aha, alam mo pala un ha! Malapit ka lang ba d2?
Sards: SAR425 is a little less than PHP6k. Magastos ate. Tsaka nakakapagod mag-asikaso ng bisita.
Nelson and JVC: Sige nga, time permitting, let us meet for a simple dinner. Just drop me a line whenever you visit Khobar.
Hi Nebz! Nice place...very cozy. Mukhang pareho tayo ng tambayan...Ramaniyah... sabagay halos lahat pala ng Pinoy in this area go to the same place.
Congratulations pala for being nominated in the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards!
Merry Christmas to you!
