Perched
Lines from Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels
I cannot tell whether I were more pleased or mortified to observe in those solitary walks that the smaller birds did not appear to be at all afraid of me, but would hop about within a yard's distance, looking for works and other food, with as much indifference and security as if no creature at all were near them. There was a shrilly chaotic noise on my window and I saw around five small birds fighting over something -- or maybe lynching another bird who must have done something wrong. After the short fight, two birds stayed perched outside my window (because the mirror is one-way, the birds hardly noticed that I'm standing almost an arm reach away from them). One flew away but this one bird stayed for a good three minutes. Sometimes he (don't ask me how I knew that the bird is a he...I'm just guessing) would look sideways towards me perhaps sensing my shadow or silhouette on the window. This is the nearest I can get to a free bird, and it's so cool.
Huhmn, na-identify niyo po ba kung anong bird ito?
Second post about birds ito na nabasa ko today, the other one was from Doc Gelo's Beyond Toxicity.
POS ung cam. Nangangarap pa rin ako ng DSLR pero for now, I'm quite content with this pipitsuging but dependendable camera ☺.
Thanks for the visit.
It's true we rarely notice the birds (except for pigeons & turtledoves) especially in crowded towns. We have like 4 kinds of little birds hanging out in our garden. I have a robin who comes & stays with me everytime I'm in the garden (except when my cat is lazing around). He gets really close at times that I could almost touch him. The other day he was just belting away with chirps & tweets. I'm sure he was telling me something. I know, I babbled here about birds! Like you said, it is really cool to get close to a free bird.
Nice, fresh looking blog, Nebz!
